Many people don’t have a last will and testament — a will.
If you’re a Nancy Drew fan, you know how much trouble that can create.
Or, if you have known someone that passed away without a will, you know the angst it can cause for family members.
Why don’t people want to think about a will, or create one? These are some guesses. if you do not have a will, perhaps you don’t fit in to any of these categories. And, right off I will say that what would prevent me the most from constructing a will would be the price and the thought of facing a lawyer. Why — I don’t know. But, when my husband hooked up with a legal protection service best part of the package was that, as members, and for a relatively tiny monthly fee….we completed our will.
But maybe these are churning around in your head:
- I don’t want to think about death. I can’t and don’t want to imagine leaving my family and this earth. If I don’t make a will, maybe it won’t happen any time soon.
- I don’t have much in the way of assets– I probably don’t need one. Do you have minor aged children? Then you should have a will, or the state will decide where they go.
- It’s expensive. Yes, it can cost thousands the conventional way, with an office lawyer. With this legal service– no.
